PEC Hospital

Picton

Under construction is the Quinte Health Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, North America’s first acute care hospital constructed with a fully exposed, all–mass timber structure. At nearly 100,000 square feet, the building demonstrates the feasibility of mass timber in healthcare and is poised to serve as a catalyst for the industry. By fostering well-being through biophilic design, the exposed mass timber creates a warm, less clinical interior for patients and staff, while significantly reducing the hospital’s carbon footprint.
