Located in Fountain Valley, California, the Orange County Sanitation District headquarters features a hybrid steel and mass timber structure. In the expansive lobby, a wood ceiling composed of intersecting glulam beams defines a space filled with natural light. Machined recesses in the architectural beams allowed the lighting fixtures to be integrated directly into the ceiling. Designed to meet Net Zero standards, the building is self-sufficient for its heating needs and reflects OCSD’s commitment to sustainability.
