Dollard-des-Ormeaux School

Shannon, Québec

Cross-laminated timber was chosen to form the totality of the 1,646 m2 roof slab for Dollard-des-Ormeaux School. In a municipality where the majority of students have one or two military parents, the architect's vision was to build a soothing, comforting and peaceful school. Wood was the perfect choice. The prominent use of wood as interior decor has been shown to reduce stress levels as well as improve the health of building occupants.
