BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT / SALES (Ontario)

Role – The Ontario-based candidate will be responsible for actively promoting the company, its products and services to key stakeholders in the building, construction, engineering and architecture sectors. He or she will establish and maintain strategic relationships to generate new business opportunities and close major transactions for wood structure projects.

 

Responsibilities – Nordic Structures is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join a growing team and contribute to the success of a Canadian company. Primary responsibilities include business development and sales.

 

Business Development:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for general contractors, developers, architects, and engineers, primarily in Ontario, and elsewhere in North America if required.
  • Develop and maintain a strong corporate-level network within the building, construction, engineering and architecture sectors.
  • Identify market trends and growth opportunities to support the company’s manufacturing expansion.
  • Participate in industry events, select the best outreach venues with the highest ROI potential, and represent the company, its products and services, and its values.
  • Prepare and deliver formal and informal presentations tailored to various audiences.
  • Actively promote services and products to all stakeholders within the AEC sector (Architecture, Engineering, Construction).
  • Act as a project leader when required to ensure proper execution of secured mandates.
  • Maintain strategic awareness of competitors and market positioning.

 

Sales:

  • Identify new business opportunities and drive sales growth in existing and emerging markets.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle independently, from prospecting to closing.
  • Lead contract negotiations, handle objections, and secure agreements.
  • Closely work with the preconstruction team to determine strategies for project proposals.
  • Conduct large-scale contract negotiations while ensuring profitability targets are met.
  • Assess risks effectively and propose suitable solutions to maximize success potential.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.

 

Profile Sought – The ideal candidate is a rigorous and proactive person, with the following prerequisites:

  • Proven experience in business development and/or sales within the building, construction, engineering or architecture industry.
  • Established network of contacts in the AEC sector, particularly in Ontario and/or North America.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both formal and impromptu).
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals and overcome objections.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Good understanding of market dynamics and competitors.
  • Bilingualism in English/French (an asset).
