Wythe I

New York, New York

This 5-storey building is located in the heart of New York’s bustling Brooklyn borough. The top two levels are residential apartment units, followed by two levels of office space, and retail space on the ground floor. The imposing building, seamlessly integrated into the neighborhood’s architectural red brick typology, stands out due to its exposure on two perpendicular streets coupled with its numerous roof terraces. The exposed wood structure, glulam posts and beams supporting wood decking only add to its elegance. To stabilize the structure, the design team decided to mix both steel and wood braces.
