Rhode Island School of Design's Residence Hall

Providence, Rhode Island

Located on Rhode Island School of Design campus, the Residence Hall building reaches up to 6 floors high. A five-storey high steel posts and beams structural system supports a cross-laminated timber slab resting on a concrete podium ground floor. A mixed system composed of K-shaped steel braces and concrete shear walls was chosen by the design team to withstand lateral loads.
